Todáy í’m sháríng á símple ídeá for ráínbow fruít íce cubes. í’ve been experímentíng wíth fruít ínfused wáter recently, ánd these seemed the náturál next step to try. í’ve found these á reálly fun wáy to jázz up pláín drínkíng wáter for kíds, helpíng to keep them háppy ánd hydráted thís summer!
í’ve spent á lot of tíme teáríng my háír out over the yeárs ás Smáll Chíld just doesn’t drínk much át áll. He’ll álwáys drínk juíce íf ít’s offered, ánd he’ll usuálly drínk mílk, but í don’t wánt hím to drínk juíce or mílk áll of the tíme, ánd í defínítely wánt hím to drínk more wáter! No mátter how much í try to encouráge hím though, he never seems to drínk much.
Recently however, í máde á símple díscovery whích práctícálly guáránteed thát he would drínk á full gláss of wáter! í couldn’t belíeve ít, such á símple tríck thát í’d been míssíng out on áll these yeárs! Thát tríck wás símply to ádd íce cubes to á gláss or flásk of wáter. áppárently íce cubes áre super fun ánd íced wáter tástes á míllíon tímes better – who knew?!
álthough í suspect thát novelty válue ís pláyíng á bíg párt ín thís, ít’s been á couple of weeks ánd the íce cube tríck ís stíll workíng! ín the meántíme, í’ve decíded to háve some fun wíth them ín the hope of extendíng the novelty válue of íce cubes for ás long ás possíble, ánd these fruíty íce cubes áre my látest experíment.
They were quíck ánd eásy to máke, ánd Smáll Chíld reálly loved them. ás they melted, they gáve the wáter á hínt of fruíty flávour, ánd Smáll Chíld loved hávíng á míní frosty fruít sálád to snáck on when he’d fíníshed drínkíng hís wáter!
Ráínbow Fruít íce Cubes
íngredíents:
hándful ráspberríes
hándful blueberríes
1 kíwí fruít
1 mándárín oránge
jug cold wáter
Method:
Stárt by wáshíng the ráspberríes ánd blueberríes, then fíll á quárter of án íce cube tráy wíth eách fruít.
Peel ánd roughly chop the kíwí, ánd ádd to the íce cube tráy
